Sylvia Biscoveanu PhD ’23 named to 2024 Forbes 30 Under 30
Among 30 honored from MIT this year
Thirty members of the MIT community have made it onto Forbes’ prestigious list of “30 Under 30”—people under 30 years old who are changing the world in fields ranging from energy to finance, and from AI to social impact.
“With the expansion across AI, technology, social media, and other industries, the honorees on this year’s list are pushing the boundaries and building their brands beyond traditional scopes,” said Alexandra York, editor for the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, in announcing the list earlier this month. “Our Under 30 class of 2025 proves that you can never begin your career journey too early.”
Sylvia Biscoveanu PhD ’23 studies gravitational waves – ripples in spacetime caused by cosmic events like merging black holes and neutron stars. Her work helps interpret these signals, revealing the properties of the objects that produce them. One project is focused on these gravitational waves from the early universe, which could offer insights into the moments after the Big Bang.
