8.THT Undergraduate Thesis Tutorial

This is a new CI-M class in which you will write a senior thesis, under the instruction and guidance of Janet Conrad. Students must be enrolled concurrently in 8.THU.

In order to take this class, you must have: 
-Completed 8.13  (already know latex, knows how to make plots, etc.)
-Have an identified research advisor.
-Have completed 2 semesters (or 1 semester+summer) of research in the topic area. (Results do not have to be final)

All completed thesis will be considered for nomination by the department to the American Physics Society for the Apker award.

In the class, students will practice oral presentations, discuss the use of AI in research writing, engage in peer editing and fact checking, write, workshop and complete a full thesis research paper. To get an A+, the thesis must be complete in fall semester and the advisor agrees to uploading it or similar to arxiv.
